A leading M&E Contractor based in Co.Down (mid Down) is looking to recruit a Fabrication Yard Supervisor to support their current fabrication and assembly teams. This is a permanent full time position.

They are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual that will be responsible for the smooth running of the fabrication processes onsite. As part of this role the successful candidate will be required to be on site at their head office each day to supervise the day to day operations of the companies’ fabrication facilities, including the co-ordination of plant deliveries.

Responsibilities of role:

·         Liaise with the project management teams to establish each projects requirement.

·         Read and understand fully the construction drawings for each project.

·         Liaise regularly with project management teams in relation to labour resources.

·         Supervise plant deliveries and schedule employees & subcontractors’ workload accordingly.

·         Provide weekly progress reports on each project.

·         Ensuring the project proceeds in a timely manner and in accordance with the programme

·         Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and completing safety inspections and ensuring overall site safety is up kept.

·         Ensure company H&S policies & procedure is adhered to onsite.

·         Maintaining quality control procedures

·         Ensure all waste is disposed in appropriate skips.

·         Set a personal example to those who come under your control.

Essential Criteria:

·         Ability to read and understand a range of drawings ie – mechanical, electrical, structural and construction details.

·         Ability to understand project requirements delivery this information through the relevant installation and assembly teams.

·         Organised and motivated to meet project completion deadlines.

·         Previous experience working at a supervisor level

·         Self-motivated and enthusiastic

Desirable Criteria:

·         Commercial mechanical and/or electrical experience

·         Previous experience in manufacturing industry ie – (fabrication / welding or assembly works)

·         Experience with commercial heating industry ie – (Biomass, Oil or Gas boiler, CHP engines)

·         Training records – MEWP, Forklift, First aid, Working at Heights.
