Accounts Assistant

A new opportunity exists for an Accounts Assistant to join a Construction Company based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the sales ledger, completing bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, and assisting the accountant with month end tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes on Sage and updating master spreadsheets
  • Allocating customer receipts and dealing with account queries
  • Producing Aged Debt reports
  • Posting supplier payments and employee expenses
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns & CIS returns
  • Updating monthly cost and revenue information for managers
  • Analysing employee timesheets
  • Support finance team with general duties

Essential Criteria:

  • 5+ GCSEs, including Maths and English
  • 2 years' experience of working in a similar role
  • Proficient in Excel, including the ability to use pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • COINS construction software experience.
