Assistant Business Analyst - Transportation Services

Our client a large utilities supplier are seeking to appoint an assistant business analyst to join their expanding team in the Greater Belfast area. 

The Role: 

To assist in daily operations of the business in the areas of transportation services, including application of Network Code processes, facilitating supply competition and regulatory affairs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Particiapte in a 3 year development programme designed specifically for this role that will assist with: 
  1. Development of analytical skills & techniques
  2. Utilities industry operational knowledge
  3. Development of communication skills
  4. Performance improvement

Financial rewards may be offered upon successful completion of the different developmnet programme modules. In addtion, the candidate will progress to the position of Transportation Services Analyst at the end of the programme. 

  • To develop a working knowledge of network codes  and transportation network operations across NI 
  • To facilitate the acurate and timely delivery of information to suppliers, the Utility Regulator and other network operators to meet industry requirements
  • To assist and support the transport services manager in the area of operational regulations.
  • To establish amnd maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Bachelors degree in a numerate or business related discipline or 3 A Levels grades A-C along with a min of 1 years experience in a relevant business environment
  • Strong IT skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work methodically & independently 
  • Excellent time management skills

Desireable skills:

  • Previous experience in an analytical business environment
  • Experience working with and devleopment of databases
  • Knowledge of a regulated utility industry 
  • Knowledge of network codes

The salary is £16k - £19k per annum. This is a role which involves a 3 year development plan where financial rewards may be offered upon successful completion of the different development programme modules.
