Job Title:              Building Services Engineer

Reports to:         Engineering Manager

Location:             Cookstown and temporarily remote. The role will involve limited travel, the majority of which will be in the UK and Ireland, but not very often. Hybrid Working with 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days from home.

Job Purpose

The company has a number of districting heating projects on going. The Building Services Engineer will support the design, installation,  commissioning and tendering of the associated building services. They will be required to specify equipment , design plant rooms, HVAC and district heating substations. They must also support the tender team by producing technical bid documents.  They will produce BMS documentation such as control philosophies and review supplier & subcontractor information.

The Role

  • Coordination of all elements of Building Services design
  • Coordination of designs with other disciplines
  • Producing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) for various ductwork and pipework systems
  • Performing ductwork and pipework sizing calculations
  • Performing fan and pump static pressure calculations
  • Performing heat exchanger sizing calculations &
  • Specification and selection of equipment.
  • Navigating 3D model viewing software
  • Estimate Generation and TBAs
  • Preparation of Tender Documents
  • Attendance at Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Liaising with vendors and contractors
  • Construction and commissioning support including dealing with contractor queries
  • Building Management Systems - development of systems architecture, specifications, controls strategies, sequence of operations through all design stages
  • Knowledge & experience of current CIBSE, Building Regulations, EN  and IEC Standards

·         Assist in the preparation of reports and the preparation of agendas and minutes for meetings as required

Personnel Specification

 

Essential

 

·         Degree level in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering with 1 years relevant post graduate experience

·         A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.

·         Ability to be flexible and adaptable as the role will involve travel, the majority of which will be in the UK and Ireland

·         Familiarity with health & safety regulations

 

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
