A Belfast Based Specialist Contractor has a new opportunity for an Estimator to join the team. 

As an estimator, you will work both individually and as part of a team, taking a tender from initial enquiry to final submittal. You will apply a high level of consideration and care to provide a professional standard of work. You will also have the opportunity to learn from our internal experts and attend various training courses to further expand your skills.

• Preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans all while meeting the clients timeframes
• Understanding architect drawings/specifications
• Preparation of costs sheets, including quantity take-offs, and the completion of project BOQ
• Final submission of the project estimate and supporting documentation
• Develop relationships with suppliers in order to assist with cost requirements.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities in order to keep quotes competitive.
• Managing your time in such a way that you meet agreed deadlines.
• Communicating with clients on tender status.
• The responsibility of presenting project handover meetings.
• Maintain accurate information regarding suppliers, sub-contractors & clients.
• Working closely with the design team to navigate any flaws/improvements and assist with potential solutions.
• Regular communication with company quantity surveyors to ensure the project remains efficient and cost effective.

To be considered for this role you will require:

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (to include English & Maths).
• At least 3 years relevant experience in the construction industry
• Excellent numerical and literacy skills.
• Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft library (Word, Excel etc).
• Excellent level of attention to details and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and provide a high standard of work while doing so.
• A team player with the motivation to be successful.
