Experienced Estimator – Main Contractor

A Market leading main contractor based in Dublin is currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.

Reporting to the Managing Estimator, the successful estimator will be responsible for the accurate pricing of a variet of jobs across various sectors.

With a diverse current workload ranging in value from €5m - €400m, the company is well-established in the Irish market and has a reputation as a market leader.

The Role

·         Preparation and negotiation of tenders submission;

·         Measuring and Quantity Take-Off from drawings;

·         Producing Bills of Quantities

·         Sourcing pre-project information; Liaising and reporting to the Estimating Manager, Contracts Manager & Director in relation to on-going projects submissions;

·         Attend regular pipeline meetings to review current tender submission requirements and communicate effectively to keep Estimating Manager up-to-date on project submission status whilst also tracking and resolving issues;

·         Keeps abreast of various changes in industry and competitive environment in which the company operates;

·         Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations

Criteria

·         Degree in Quantity Surveying or related subject

·         5+ years’ experience working in an estimating role

·         Strong communicator with a keen eye for detail

·         Good understanding of construction methods, specifications and the ability to read, understand and measure drawings.

·         Display high capability of extracting quantities from drawings and ensure that accurate pricing is delivered within specified time frames
