Finishing Foreman - 7 Storey Apartment Complex

Location: Dublin City Centre

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Finishing Foreman to oversee the completion of a 7 storey apartment complex in Dublin City Centre. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction, particularly in the finishing stages of residential projects. They will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards throughout the project.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure timely completion of finishing works including painting, tiling, carpentry, and installation of fixtures.
2. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being completed to high standards and in compliance with plans and specifications.
3. Implement and maintain strict safety protocols, conducting toolbox talks and ensuring all workers adhere to safety regulations.
4. Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and resolution of any issues that arise.
5. Manage material deliveries and inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available to complete the project.
6. Keep detailed records of work progress, including daily reports, photographs, and any variations to the original plans.
7. Conduct snagging inspections and ensure all defects are rectified in a timely manner.
8. Provide guidance and support to site staff and subcontractors, ensuring they have the necessary resources to complete their tasks efficiently.
9. Liaise with local authorities and utility companies as required.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman or similar role in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
2. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
3. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
4. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
5. Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
6. Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
7. Proficiency in using construction management software and MS Office applications.
8. Valid Safe Pass and relevant construction qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Trade qualification in a relevant construction discipline (e.g., carpentry, painting, etc.).
2. Previous experience working on residential developments in Dublin City Centre.
