GRADUATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR (PQS)

 

Ø  Location - DUBLIN CITY CENTRE

Ø  Experience – 1+ years in PQS/Consultancy/contractor  (including work placement)

Ø  Projects – Commercial/Residential/Hotel

Ø  Quantity Surveying Degree/Building Surveying Degree (RICS)

Ø  INTERVIEWING IMMEDIATELY AFTER EASTER HOLIDAYS

Ø  30,000 – 36,000 – Experience dependant

 

THE COMPANY

CSR are working along with a Dublin PQS practice that has a requirement at the moment for a graduate quantity surveyor to join their QS team!

Your new role will involve working on public and private projects stretching from large commercial builds and hotels, to some smaller residential projects! Project value in your first year will be anything up £30 million. Due to the quality of their work and growing reputation, not to mention a full order book for the foreseeable future, a vacancy has now become available for a graduate QS to step into.

Your new employer will assist you right the way through your APC’s as well as paying your fees each year after you qualify!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost management of these high value projects along with your team will be the main responsibility of the role. You will be assisting more senior quantity surveyors in your role to help develop your knowledge and broaden your experience.

Working alongside experienced quantity surveyors will develop your knowledge and experience. You will also be responsible for liaising with your team as well as your clients in order to create, maintain and develop all relationships involved in the process.

·         Estimate materials

·         Keep track of changes to design or construction work

·         Measure and value of the work produced

·         Understanding of estimating budgets

·         Prepare contract documents like bills of quantities etc

·         Dealing/liaising with clients, architects and anyone else involved in the process

·         Negotiation and analysis of costs for tenders/contracts

·         Production of information and detailed findings into reports

·         Adhere to health and safety regulations

YOU WILL BE INVOLVED IN

·         Cost estimating

·         Cost planning

·         Economic appraisals

·        Value engineering

·        Risk management

·        Feasibility studies

·        Contract procurement

·        Tendering

Experience in all of the above isn’t essential in the first instance, they are more to do with what the role will involve when you develop yourself and spend time in the role.
