Manufacturing Engineer

On behalf of our client based in the Portadown area CSR are seeking to appoint en experienced Manufacturing Engineer. The role will be focused on working with the production and supply chain teams. 

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of improvement activities within Operations, using a results-driven approach. You will work with the production and business improvement teams to implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing methodologies within the Production environment.  The ability to engage with key stakeholders will be critical.  You will provide leadership within improvement projects using established company methodologies in response to identified performance gaps.  

Role

The post holder will:

1.     Analyse and report on equipment efficiency

2.     Support, train and mentor Operations to help to provide accurate Production, Machining and Stores process times

3.     Lead improvement projects

4.     Coach and mentor employees on Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, focused on zero shortages, improved flow and efficiency

5.     Ensure new and existing processes and procedures are sustained

6.     Investigate equipment options to increase process improvement and automation, and manage projects for implementation of the same

7.     Assist in the implementation of our ERP system

8.     Work with equipment suppliers and factory management to introduce and manage preventative maintenance campaigns

9.     Complete other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the jobholder’s level in the company

 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

 

Essential

Desirable

 

 

Qualifications

 

Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline is preferred

 

 

 

Masters degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline

 

Six Sigma Green Belt or above

 

 

Experience

 

5 Years’ manufacturing experience gained in a similar role.

 

Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives

 

 

 

Experience in materials movement automation

 

Experience in aluminium/glass fabrication

 

Experience in Project Management

 

 

 

Key Skills

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

 

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

 

Demonstrated analytical skills

 

High level of attention to detail

 

 

 

Coaching and Mentoring

 

Proficiency in AutoCAD
