Quality Control Inspector

 JOB SPECIFICATION

JOB TITLE: Quality Control Inspector

REPORTING TO: Quality Manager

 

Purpose:

•               To preventing errors in manufacturing or production that lead to product defects.

•               Testing products extensively before their release.

 

Main Duties

•               Carrying out inspections and tests on products, pot pre and post pore, ensuring they meet requirements of customer specifications and in-house Quality Standards.

•               Complete all required inspection and testing records, as applicable.

•               Reporting inspection results to QA Manager

•               Record all non-conformances on non-Conforming log.

•               To identify product requiring scrapping and report to Yard Manager and Directors on decision to scrap.

•               Preparing a QA documentation pack for forwarding to customers.

•               Carrying out inspection of all reworked products prior to release.

•               Partake in establishing ROOT CAUSE of problems.

•               Checking that raw materials or components involved in the production process are of suitable quality

•               Writing production plans that minimise risk of mistakes during production

•               Estimating time involved in assuring each product’s quality

•               Meeting project deadlines

•               Suggesting improvements to checking procedures and processes to prevent future mistakes during production

•               Communicating with Quality Control about existing defects and how to prevent them in future products

•               Communicating with other departments such as project management and engineers, and building a rapport with concrete operatives.

•               Reporting discovered defects to all relevant departments for correction

•               Applying technical skills related to the product being tested

•               Conforming to regulations and national standards when it comes to testing and quality assurance

 

General Duties

•               Complying with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.

•               Carrying out any other functions deemed necessary by the Directors for the effective operation of the company.

 

Remuneration and Conditions of Employment

•               Working hours per 40 per week, based on Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

•               30 days holiday

•               Contributory pension scheme
