SHEQ Advisor

Our client are the leading providers of telecommunications in Ireland and the UK.

They currently require a HSEQ Advisor to join them in in their head office based in Dungannon.

As a HSEQ Advisor you will be responsible for all aspects of delivery of the Company’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. This will include, but not limited to, undertaking audits and inspections, developing operating procedures, preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations as well as providing advice and guidance to employees and sub-contractors.

The successful candidate would ideally be from the local area, this is a predominantly NI based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of the HSEQ Management system, in line with (ISO 45001), ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSEQ statutory duties is achieved.
  • Reporting to management on the performance of the management systems and any need for improvement.
  • Ensuring the promotion and awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.
  • Responsible for carrying out site audits/inspections, checking and reporting compliance levels for Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental issues.
  • Provide guidance and assist Project managers / Supervisors to achieve compliance within the law, company, and client HSEQ requirements.
  • Coaching and mentoring field operatives to improve Safety and compliance and optimise company KPI’s.
  • Carry out risk assessments, identifying hazards and implement control measures.
  • Take part in Safety meetings and complete Toolbox talks.
  • Compile Statistics and writing reports.
  • Attend client meeting and present safety statistics.
  • Identify training needs and organise accordingly.
  • Investigate and report incidents.
  • Implementing the HSEQ Management system, in line with ISO Certification.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSEQ statutory duties is achieved.
  • Ensuring that processes needed for the management systems are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Reporting to top management on the performance of the management systems and any need for improvement.
  • Ensuring the promotion and awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.

Personal Profile

  • Qualification in a relevant subject related to construction health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • IOSH member
  • Associate member of IEMA (or equivalent qualifications / experience)
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of HSEQ generalist skills
  • Sound working knowledge of HSEQ law, and relevant sector specific HSEQ standards in relation to construction/building and asset management servicesTechnical Skills & Ability in Generalist HSEQ
