Self-Erect Crane | Residential Units (Dublin South)

We are seeking a qualified Self-Erect Crane Driver for a residential development project in the Dublin area. This role requires an operator who is proficient in remote-control operation and can coordinate closely with ground teams to ensure safe and efficient material distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crane Operation: Safe operation of the Self-Erect Crane using remote-control or cab-based systems to move site materials, including mortar, blocks, and steel.
  • Precision Lifting: Executing lifts with high accuracy, particularly when placing materials in tight residential plots or near live site boundaries.
  • Daily Inspections: Conducting mandatory pre-start safety checks, including the inspection of limit switches, ropes, and outriggers, while maintaining the crane logbook.
  • Site Coordination: Working directly with the site foreman and banksmen to prioritize lifts and manage the "hook time" efficiently across the project.
  • Safety Protocols: Ensuring the crane is left in a safe "out-of-service" (free-slew) condition at the end of each shift and monitoring ground stability around the outriggers.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience operating Self-Erecting Tower Cranes on Irish construction sites.
  • Certifications: Valid Safe Pass card and CSCS Self-Erecting Tower Crane or Tower Crane ticket are essential.
  • Manual Handling: In-date certificate (Training can be provided if necessary).
  • PPE: Must have own standard PPE (Hard hat, High-vis, Steel-toe boots).
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication skills for radio and face-to-face coordination.
