The CSR Group has partnered with an exciting new company that has quickly become an expert in the Telecommunications industry in Northern Ireland.

They are currently seeking to add a Senior Network Engineer for take a leading role in their team. Based in Belfast, this role is for someone who is looking to make a real investment in their career.

As a Network Engineer you will be part of the team responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and 24/7 support of the company’s core network and systems.

Salaries ranging from £45000 – 60000 DOE

Other benefits available and salary negotiable for the right candidate

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

·         End to end design, Planning, implementation and support of Core network.

·         Configuration, Management and troubleshooting of network related issues.

·         Operational (Tier 2/3) support.

·         Documentation of standards while ensuring compliance across platform.

·         Participation in on-call support/escalation rota.

·         Mentor and Train team members.

Key Competencies

·         Knowledge and experience of Juniper/Nokia/Mikrotik/Cisco routers.

·         In-dept knowledge and experience with rouring protocols BGP, MPLS, ISIS, OSPF, IPv6.

·         Experience with the following protocols and concepts: TCP/IP. UDP, NAT, QoS, HSRP,/VRRP, DNS, ARP, HTTP, SNMP, SSL, IPSec and TLS.

·         Certification: JNCIS/CCNP

Skills and Ability

·         Self-motivated; good time-keeping and customer-value work ethic.

·         Working knowledge of Wide-Area networking technologies, preferably in an ISP environment

·         Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills; gathers evidence, investigates solutions, considers implications for the business, goal-orientated

·         Takes pride in achieving best mutual outcome for customer and Fibrus

·         Builds long-term relationships both internally and externally across different cultures

·         Good communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Organisational skills and the ability at any stage to manage changing priorities within tight deadlines while ensuring quality output and delivery of results

Experience

·         At least 3 years’ experience in a Telecommunication environment

·         Able to demonstrate knowledge of networking topologies and routing protocols

·         Confident in the levels of the OSI model and how it relates to TCP/IP, Ethernet

·         Good organisational skills

·         Process and Teamwork oriented approach with both internal and external customers

Academic & Professional Qualifications 

·         3^rd level education in a relevant field preferred

·         Networking accreditation to at least CCNP,MTCRE or JNCIA equivalent level
